Colorado... Here we are!
Spencer was a little quiet at first. His eyes glued out the window, just taking in all the sights... the mountains in the distance. The next thing he says is, "mom, I see why you like this place." At that point, he had barely seen a thing. But his camera was just clicking away!! And I thought I took a lot of photos! This boy was already putting me to shame. Here's my favorite he took at that point...
So, about 1/2 way to Colorado Springs, we saw and outlet mall that Spencer decided he wanted to stop at. Why is that? Well... Because he saw that they had an Under Armour store and he's recently become a huge fan. It was still early, like 8:30. I told him I wasn't sure they would be open but we pulled in to check anyway.
His utter dissapointment was quickly squashed when we realized, in the next parking lot, they were setting up for a car show. As soon as he walked over there he says with almost a bewildered tone... This is car heaven! We saw some old fashioned cars, some fancy decked out cars and everything in between. Some of his favs...

So... Back on the road. Only 45 more minutes to our hotel... The Rainbow Lodge and Inn.
It's a quaint little place... And it will do us just fine for our 2 nights here.
We were lucky enough to get an early check in so we changed quick and headed for the mountains - Pikes Peak!!
